Barney Frank Came to Town |

|
Chairman of the
Committee on financial services, Barney Frank, U.S. House of
Representatives, came to Houston as the guest of Congressman Al
Green. Mr. Frank also met with local bankers and Asian community
leaders.
As our economy faces the sub-prime financial crisis, Frank said
that he and Congressman Green are working to help many people
facing foreclosure on their homes. He explained that they are
also working on allowing government agencies regulate the home
mortgage industry so the problems the country is facing will not
be repeated.
A group of Asian community leaders and bankers also had a very
fruitful meeting with Frank,
and discussed many complex issues facing today’s society and
more specifically, problems in
the Asian-American communities.
We are also very glad that our Congressman Al Green always
thinks about our community and makes it possible for us to have
the opportunity to talk directly with a Washington
decision-maker.
As new immigrants to America, most?of us are working so hard try
to adapt in a new life. For the newcomers, this is a totally new
life for them.
