福斯電視新聞尖兵候塞退役晚會

認識福斯二十六號電視台晨間新聞主播候塞已經二十多年了， 記得二十年前我們邀請到二十多位河南少林寺武術小將們來休斯敦表演。 這群身怀絕技的小僧， 我每天帶他們到福斯電視台演播大廳 ，現塲向觀眾們表示武功 ，尤其是年僅八歲身怀武術絕學童子功， 把現塲觀眾看得目瞪口呆， 當時在實況轉播的候塞直言這是我此生見過的最精彩和令人無法置信的功夫表演。

多年來 ，他曾經多次為我們主持過春節園游會， 有幾年一大早就到我們的電視台向清晨之電視觀眾講說華人如何吃年夜飯 。

昨晚我們參加了他在福斯電視台主持晨間節目三十年之退休晚會， 將近一千位他的同事好友擠進了休斯敦機場的飛機大樓內， 候塞被打扮成即將到海邊度假， 手持雪茄戴上墨鏡一幅輕鬆自在之模様， 畢竟他也真的老了。 他變得清瘦得多， 比起當年的英姿煥發開怀大笑之身影， 畢竟歲月不饒人。

當晚所有大休斯敦地區之市長、 郡長、 議員， 法官及商業媒體重要人士都出席了晚會。 大家對他過去三十年來所做之社區新聞報導表示高度之感謝和不捨， 我們也和他的老闆畢柏談到過去幾十年來美南電視台和候塞之深厚情誼。

當晚我送他一個绣有雙喜之中國瓷器為紀念， 並誠摯地邀請他為美南傳媒之顧問， 他低聲地告訴我， 我家就住在你們電視台附近。  

候塞這名新聞尖兵從戰塲上退役了， 他的一生透過鏡頭影響了無數觀眾， 陪伴休斯敦市民度過清晨時光， 他的一生是充實美滿的退下舞台， 如今他更希望加入我們的團隊來為德州地區少數族裔之未來貢獻力量。

Fox New Stop Soldier Is Retiring

It has been more than twenty years since I met the Fox News morning news anchor Jose Grinan. During that time, Southern News Group invited more than thirty Shaolin martial arts monks to come to Houston to perform. I took them to the Fox TV studio in the morning to perform in a live show. Their performance just stunned the TV audience and Jose told me that it was the most wonderful and incredible Kung Fu show he had ever seen in his life.

Over the years, Jose always gave a shout out for our Lunar New Year celebration and let his viewers have a view of our culture. 

Last night we attended Jose's retirement party. Thousands of his colleagues and friends squeezed into the Houston Million DollarAir Inter-Link Hanger to say goodbye to him. Jose was dressed in a blue shirt with a cigar in his hand and wearing sunglasses, It shows that Jose and his wife Katy will enjoy their life in the future. 

At the party were many local politicians including the mayor, congressmen, city council members and a County Commissioner, all on the stage to share their stories and times they shared with Jose over the past several years. Jose's professional life was influenced by many of our citizens. He had a full and happy time on the TV stage for thirty years. 

Jose, you are  a top soldier in the media business. We will miss your show, but we still want you to be a part of our mission to work for the future of ethnic minorities in our community and in our nation.
