中美元首即將在舊金山會晤

中國國家主席習近即將和拜登總統在舊金山會晤舉行中美兩國高峯會談。 這是習主席自二0一七年之後首次踏上美國國土，也將是中美兩國元首面對面討論䧟入低潮的兩國關係。

此次高峯會議除了討論貿易競爭巴以及烏克蘭戰爭議題外， 台灣問題也將是重要議題之一。這對中美兩國近年來之緊張關係會帶來良性互動。

習主席此行在舊金山也將出席亞太經合會非正式領導人峯會， 並且和美國民間企業舉行餐會 。他也將邀請三十九年前在愛爾華州訪問時結識之民間友人相聚， 包括前州長及駐中國大使布蘭斯塔德在內， 這充分表達習主席怀念老友之情懷。

虽然從中美兩國元首之会晤我們很难看到會有任何重大之突破， 但是， 這兩𠆤大國之溝通管道非常重要。 從美國國內看來， 拜登總統之連任將面臨重大挑戰， 中東以色列在加薩走廊之戰爭， 造成世界多數國家之反對， 尤其會導致美國非猶太裔不投票給拜登， 國內通貨膨脹引起之物價波動， 加上聯邦政府又䧟於關門危機 。

對中國大陸而言， 國內經濟不振 ，外贸減弱， 國外投資減少， 要推動十四億人口大國之經濟， 也同樣回對諸多挑戰。

總之這兩個全球最大之經濟體必須認清目前世界情勢， 他們肩負着世界和平和繁榮安定之重責大任， 希望舊金山高峯會能打開一条康壯大道 。

Sino-U.S. Leaders Set To Meet In San Francisco

Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet soon with President Joe Biden in San Francisco to hold high-level talks between the United States and China. This is the first time that President Xi has set foot in the United States since 2017. This will be the world's two top heads of state discussing mutual relations face-to- face. 

In addition to discussing trade competition, the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, the Taiwan issue will also be one of the most important topics. 

President Xi will also attend the APEC leaders conference in San Francisco and hold dinner with American business leaders. He has also invited old friends from the state of Iowa from the time he lived there 39 years ago and will include a former Iowa governor and former ambasador to China Branstad. 

From the two heads of state meeting, we can’t see any major breakthroughs, but the communication between the two big powers is very important. From the perspective of the United States,  President Biden’s re-election is facing very serious challenges including the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, high inflation and the fact that the government is again facing another shutdown. 

For mainland China, the domestic economy is sluggish and foreign investment is slowing down. It is a big challenge for the nation that has 1.4 billion people. 

Going forward, the two biggest economies in the world must recognize and face the current world situation. They both shoulder a heavy responsibility for world peace, prosperity and stability. We all hope this summit in San Francisco will bring a fruitful result.
