真情無價. 永懐故友

週二午後我們來到德州休斯敦赫門公園的日本花園,參加了故友格蘭之冥誕紀念日,和休斯敦大學教授洛旦索伉儷參加紀念格蘭長櫈使用儀式,同時缅懐這位數十年之摯友及商業伙伴。

有着美國德州壽司王稱號的格蘭,在他七十多年之歲月中,充滿了精彩和榮耀,他常告訴別人他是出生在美國的第三代日裔,由於家境不錯從小就衣物不缺,大學時就參加父母之餐飲事業,夫人凱蒂是他小學時的青梅竹馬，當年在休斯敦西區著名的東京園餐廳是我們相識並經常參加各項政治社交集會之中心。

二十年來,我們成立休斯敦國際貿易中心,創建環球第一銀行及老人公寓計劃，他都是出錢出力,只要我有要求他都會全力以赴,出錢出力，是位名符其實之社會公益慈善家。

今天赫門公園的日本公園陽光普照，風和日麗,近五十位格蘭之親朋好友在綠茵地上再次站在他的彩照之前,他的微笑充滿在我們愛他的友人心田中,格蘭在另外一個世界必定感受到我們的溫情關懷和思念。

回程時再次座在紀念他的長櫈上,撫摸着嵌有他名字的銅牌,淚眶仍然泛紅,我們的情誼是多麼永恆而堅強。

True Friendship Is Priceless. Old Friends Are Eternal.

This is a beautiful and meaningful day as we commemorate our dear friend Glen Gondo at the Japanese Garden in Hermann Park in Houston, Texas. Glen was an extraordinary individual who lived a rich and fulfilling life. He was known as the "Sushi King of Texas," and he was also a true philanthropist.

Glen‘s contribution to so many community projects included the Houston International Trade Center, the Senior apartment project and the newly founded Global One Bank. He is still our true friend and business partner.
The image of Glen’s photo is surrounded by his love ones and many friends on the grass under the sunny sky as we all share a touching moment, full of memories and gratitude for his presence in our life.

Sitting on the monorail bench dedicated for Glen, feeling the touch of his nameplate, despite the tears, reflects the deep and eternal bond of friendship that we all share. Glen is in his new realm knowing he is missed and cherished by those who loved him.
It‘s evident that Glen’s legacy lives on through the stories and memories shared by friends and family, a living testament to the impact he had on those around him.
