美国新冠疫情日记04/15/2020 岂可独善其身

                    岂可独善其身

当新冠病毒席捲世界之际，任何地区及居民无一幸免，从我们的电视镜头中看到，巴黎铁塔旁已空无行人，时代广场除了耀眼的霓红灯，只有见到一些游民徘徊；迈阿密海滩上的白沙也只看到在空中飞翔的海鸥，世界各大城市的医疗机构及长廊上许多等待救命的病患；在平静的社区弄堂，亲朋好友正在為失去的亲人哭泣，这是多麼令人哀慟的歷史镜头，我们绝难想像当人类文明进入前所未有的繁荣时代，仍然无法战胜病毒，而变為人类歷史上的浩刧。

川普总统已宣称美国要停止每年对世界卫生组织近五亿美元之资助，他指责世卫组织无法為此次疫情提供完整公正之资讯，而导致包括美国在内的国家遭受惨重灾情，川普再次提到世界贸易组织对待美国之不公平，对联合国等国际组织给以指责。

但是，微软创办人盖兹则认為，美国切断对世卫组织之资助是件十分危险的举措。

今天美国仍然是世界超级强国，我们掌握世界之军事及经济力量，从任何角度看来，我们对世界之和平有不可推卸之责任，决不可轻言退出，何况全球还有绝大多数的人民等待我们的援手。

我们呼吁白宫国家领导人要三思，尤其是当全地球人类遭此浩劫之时，美国还在乎五亿元会费，我们能够独善其身吗 ？

                                                Can We Isolate?

Today the Coronavirus has brought the human tragedy to all the people of the world. 

People are suffering the pain in Paris, France, at the beaches of Miami, Florida, and in Times Square in New York City. Most of the streets are empty. We hear crying at different community homes and in hospitals all over the world people are losing their loved ones. We just don’t understand how this virus could destroy the modern society we have worked to build for so many years.

President Trump has just announced that the United States will halt funding to the World Health Organization (WHO) because they could not get accurate information to the world about the pandemic. The president also criticized that the WHO didn’t treat the U.S. fairly.

This morning Microsoft founder Bill Gates said in his tweet, “Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds.”

We want also to urge the President that we as a super power in the world have a responsibility to “rescue” the world. Can we isolate?
