WE STRONGLY SUPPORT THE REPEAL OF TEXAS SB 17

Fifty Texas Business Leaders Unite in Support of Freedom, Equality, and the American Dream

Thursday, November 5, 2026

America was founded upon the principles of liberty, democracy, equality, and the rule of law. For generations, immigrants from around the world have come to this nation seeking freedom, opportunity, and a better future.

Through hard work, entrepreneurship, innovation, and dedication, they have helped build the economic strength and prosperity of the United States.

Today, growing concerns over national security, foreign investment, and property ownership have generated significant public debate.

Texas Senate Bill 17 (SB 17), which addresses restrictions on certain land and real estate purchases, has raised concerns among members of the Asian American community, immigrant families, and business leaders.

We recognize the importance of protecting national security. At the same time, we believe that legislation must respect constitutional protections, fairness, due process, and lawful property rights.

We strongly support efforts to repeal SB 17 through the democratic legislative process.

Fifty Business Leaders Standing Together

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, fifty Texas business and community leaders will gather at the International Trade Center in Houston for an official joint statement signing ceremony.

This gathering represents a peaceful and constructive expression of civic participation.

Our message is clear: national security and economic prosperity can coexist with constitutional protections and equal treatment under the law.

We support legislative reconsideration and repeal efforts during the 2027 Texas Legislative Session.

Protecting the American Dream

Immigrants have contributed significantly to the economic, cultural, and social development of Texas and the United States.

From small businesses to major corporations, immigrant entrepreneurs have created jobs, supported local communities, invested in education, and strengthened America’s global competitiveness.

We believe that the American Dream must remain a symbol of opportunity, fairness, and hope for everyone who works hard and contributes to society.

Freedom, equality, and justice are not merely ideals. They are fundamental principles that deserve continued protection.

A Shared Commitment to America’s Future

We respect differing political perspectives and recognize legitimate national security concerns.

We also believe that constructive dialogue, responsible legislation, and democratic participation provide the strongest foundation for addressing complex public policy challenges.

This issue extends beyond any single community. It concerns the broader principles of constitutional government, lawful property rights, and equal treatment.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to a stronger, more inclusive, and more prosperous America.
