美國新冠疫情日記 10/16

Our Nation’s Future Depends On Leadership

Much of the United States continues to report an upward trend in coronavirus cases. Thirty-five states are showing increases in new COVID-19 cases, greater than 10% over last week when compared to the prior week.
Dr. Peter J. Hotez of Baylor College of Medicine said, “This is the time when we could be entering one of the worst periods of our epidemic and one of worst periods in modern American public health. I am very worried for the nation.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, also said that, “the issue is that as we are now entering into the cooler season of winter, you don’t want to be in that compromised position where your baseline daily infection is high and you are increasing it, as opposed to going in the other direction.”

Overall, the virus has infected almost eight million people in the U.S. and more than 217,000 people have died.

Fauci stressed that, “A vaccine is still the best way to bring an end to the pandemic,” and added that, “pursing herd immunity would be dangerous.”

Tonight President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden met with TV audiences in different events at separate locations.

Most of the questions asked to both candidates in the town hall meeting formats dealt with economics and coronavirus issues. The presidential election is just around the corner. The future of our nation is in our hands. We hope the leader of America will not only come to rescue us, he should also be the leader of the world too.

Today in Washington, D.C., both parties are still fighting for their own agendas. Many people have been suffering for a long time because they either lost their job or their business. We urge the Congress and the White House to take immediate action and come to the rescue of our people.
