世界名校哈佛上週任命五十一歲的蓋伊院長出任首位黑人女校長 ，這是哈佛大學首位非裔校長， 也是第二位哈佛女校長。

即將卸任的校長白樂瑞稱讃她是位具有敏銳頭腦正派善良的領導者， 將會帶領哈佛成為世界思想及造福人類,的領導者。

蓋伊校長和我們許多人有非常相似之處 ，她的父母是來自海地之移民家庭， 她始終相信教育是能夠改變人生之最佳途徑。

我們從最近先後出任哈佛及萊斯大學校長的黑人校長 ，她們同時具有第一代移民家庭之背景， 也是拼命努力求學及良好之人格素養，才能登上領導世界第一流大學校長之寶座。

長久以來， 包括我們在內的美國少數族裔一直在抱怨社會之不公平及歧視， 究其部分原因雖然有歷史因素 ，但是許多還是我們對社會之影響力不夠 ，尤其在領導階層， 這也許是和我們家庭教育息息相關。

我們最近正在籌備在美南電視台中推出「青少年演說領袖訓練營」，聘請名師教導年輕人如何在大庭廣眾中發表演說， 展現領導力， 希望將來也會出現一位哈佛華裔校長。

Harvard named first Black woman President

A distinguished scholar Dr. Lauding Gay will become 30th new president of Harvard University on July 1 next year.

Since 2018 She served as the dean of Harvard’s Faculty and Arts and Science the daughter of Haitian immigrants Gray received her bachelor degree from Stanford and Ph.D from Harvard .

Speaking after her selection Gay said “ I am humbled by confidence that the governing boards have placed in me and by the prospect of succeeding President Bacow in leading this remarkable institution. “

President Gay is very similar to many of us. Her parent are immigrants from Haiti they always believed that education is the best way to change people’s life.

For long time American minorities including Asians have been complaining about social injustice and discrimination. Although some of the reasons are historical factors many of them still have insufficient influence on society especially in the leadership level which may be closely related to our family education.

We are currently preparing to launch the “young speech leadership Training camp” to teach young generation how to make speech and show their leadership. We hope one day Harvard will name a Asian American President.
