矽谷高科技面臨寒冬

矽谷銀行被政府接管之後，週二開始恢復運作，該銀行已經在一月底開始解雇了一百五十名員工， 大約佔全部八千五百名員工的百分之壹點四， 事實上他們已經感覺到寒冬之來臨。

美國金融監管機構在接手後除了保證二十五萬元客戶存款之外，也保證其餘存款戶, 以幫助數千家中小企業度過難關 ，新任總裁馬約布羅表示所有員工將繼續原來薪資及福利。

由於業務在減少之中， 位於灣區之臉書今天再度宣布裁員百分之十三， 對於這些科技公司而言將來必將有更多之困難。 主要是各種新科技之發達 。必然有更大的競爭

。美國政府及國會正在硏擬如何限制及阻止諸如抖音等社交媒體在美國之發展 ，其中還有一個原因是因為造成國內媒體之重大競爭壓力。

我們的世界已經在迅速改變之中， 人工智慧及更多之傳媒產品必將繼續改變我們取得資訊之方式，當年獨霸一方的媒體巨擘， 將會逐漸式微。 

New Challenges For Social Media Giants

One month before the collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank, they quietly laid off 120 employees, or about 1.4% of the total of 8,500 employees.

Tech giant Facebook laid off 13% of their employees in the Bay Area in late 2022, and earlier this year, Silicon Valley Bank discovered that their depositors were dropping out as their clientele of tech companies, who were heavily  invested in venture capital funds, saw that their interest rates were going up. 

On Sunday, the government moved to guarantee that all SVB deposits, even those with balances above the FDIC insured amount of $250,000 for each depositor, would be protected. The FDIC appointed former Fannie Mac CEO Tim Mayopoulous as the new CEO and  employees returned to their positions with normal pay and benefits. 

As many new tech companies are now coming into the market, the old tech and social media giants will face more challenges which will be of great benefit to consumers.

The world is changing very rapidly, so we all need to adapt to the new technology that is coming every day and shaping our future. We are also very happy that we are becoming a part of these wonderful global changes where so many things are just under our 

fingertips.
