我們為何要參加市長助選活動

美國第四大城休斯敦近年來不斷湧進了許多居民， 尤其是亞裔移民， 許多來自國外。 大部份是來自加州， 根據最新的調查顯示， 大休斯敦包括近郊小城已經有一百二十萬亞太裔市民 ，但他們正以無比之商業活力為主，為德州創造經濟之勃蓬生機 ，，而且休斯敦也躍居全美最多元化之大城市， 共有一百二十多種方言將的休城是一個真正國際化之大城市。

我們有幸在這個充滿生機又有各族裔色彩的大城 ，多年來由于大家之斉心協力， 國際區及西南華埠已經完成成為休斯敦之重要經濟及文化區 ，更是我們大家對外展示之一張名片 。

近二十年來， 我們和先後多少任之市長都保持有極良好之關係， 舉凡社區之重大活動， 市長都從未缺席。 他們都能聽取我們之各種建議， 其中包括近期開幕的艾利夫社區 、公園 、市政府斥設五千八百元， 是近年來最現代化之美麗壯觀公共建築。

政治是眾人之事， 我們在此土地上落地生根 ，是我們的家， 而治理這個家的家長就是市長 ，有了好的領導才是全民之福 。

不論您支持何人競選市長， 重在於參加投票和捐款， 支持自己的候選人 ，才能表現我們華亞裔之力量。

Why We Should All Participate In The Election Of Our Mayor

Houston, the fourth largest city in America, has seen many newcomers pouring into the city over recent years. Many of them are from abroad, but most are coming from California. 

According to latest surveys, there are 1.2 million Asian Pacific Islanders in the greater Houston area, including suburban locales and smaller surrounding cities. The newcomers are creating a lifting of the city's economy with much notable commercial vitality. We are the most diverse city in America where more than 120 dialects are spoken. 

We are so fortunate to live in this great city that is full of vitality and with all colors of ethnic groups. Over the years, with all of us working so hard in the International District and Asian Town, we have become an important economic and cultural zone of the city of Houston. This is also a 'business card' for the city that we can proudly show to the rest of the world. 

Over the past several decades, we have kept very good relations with all of Houston's mayors. Many of them never missed our major events.

Politics is really everyone’s business. Our roots are in this land and this is our home. In today's world, we need the very  best leadership to lead this great city into a brighter future. 

No matter who you support to be the next mayor of Houston, we all need to go out and vote and donate funds and participate to show the strength of our Asian community.
