如何進軍美國政治主流

應楊德清兄之邀約， 週六上午再度和州議員吳元之、 白先慎教授、 黃登陸兄、 孫鐵漢兄及楊寶華兄等一起座談， 討論德州147 案之得失及今後我們努力之方向。 大家在近三小時之討論中， 由實際參加抗議活動遊行的施慧倫及羅玲做了詳盡之報告 ，結論是暫時之勝利， 決不可終止我們今後之繼續努力和奮鬥。

我們在此要繼續呼籲華裔同胞和選民， 我們唯有自救才會得到其他族裔的鼎力協助 ，吳元之議員也承認 ，這次反華的147 法案如果沒有得到非裔、 拉丁裔及其他亞裔聲援和拔刀相助， 決不可能會影響到該案之消失。

在此困難重重之環境中， 我們應該立即採取兩大方向進行規劃， 首先是組織動員 ，如今在格林議員之倡議下， 近半年來我們已經組成德州多族裔陣線 ，近三十位發起人已經捐獻經費進行法律註冊登記程序， 大約有三十個社團將成為發起人， 其次是經費之籌措決不可缺， 未來希望每年有十萬元經費來請專人負責會務之推動。 

在非裔社區領袖狄克遜之倡議下， 在美南電視環球劇坊將由他主持每週一次的社區公共議題線下及線上座談會， 透過社群媒體现埸轉播及平面媒體之報導， 全面擴大社會影響力。

今天我們面臨如此艱難之挑戰 ，大家一定要站出來， 共同為我們的生存権益而奮戰。

How To Enter Into American Politics

At the invitation of Brother Yang, on Saturday morning we had another discussion with State Representative Gene Wu and Professor Pei, Peter Huang, Harry Sun and Kevin Yang to discuss the gains and losses of Texas Bill 147. After almost three hours we asked Lou Ling and Helen Shi to make a detailed report of the rally. The conclusion is that this is temporary victory. We must not to stop our continued efforts and struggle into the future. 

We must continue telling our Chinese American friends that it is only by virtue of our self-help and efforts that we can get the full assistance of the other ethnic groups.

Representative Wu admitted that when we got help from the African American and Latino communities, this was the major reason Bill 147 did not pass. 

In this difficult environment, we suggest there are two major steps we need to take now. The first is that we have to form the coalition as a permeant platform to mobilize all the actions into the future.

The second thing is that we need to raise funds of at least $100,000 per year specifically for hiring a dedicated person to run the organization. 

In the meantime, we need to have a weekly talk show to discuss all our problems in the city. 

This  is the time we all need to be united and stand up for our rights and our survival.
