國際貿易中心將促進和圭亞那全面交流

今午我代表休斯敦國際貿易中心及環球第一銀行會見了南美圭亞那駐美南地區總領事胡笙閣下， 雙方就加強合作事項交換意見並取得許多共同之協議， 將進一步加強休斯敦地區工商界和圭亞那之經濟投資和教育文化之交流。

圭亞那是南美唯一以英語為官方語言之國家，大約人口只有近八十萬，主要由百分之三十之非裔及百分之四十的印度裔移民組成。 

在二0一九年國內生產總值僅三十八點三億美元， 人均是四千八百元， 並且是一個貧窮以外債減免的國家。 但是在二0一五年時， 美國埃克森美孚公司在圭亞那海域發現了八十億桶之上等油田，並於當年十二月開始產油。  估計未來石油日產量將超過110 萬桶， 圭亞那未來石油人均產量甚至會超過科威特、 阿拉伯聯合大公國及沙地阿拉伯、經濟成長率為全球第一， 也會成為世界最富有之國家之一。

胡笙總領事表示歡迎各類商業前往投資， 包括基礎建設、 觀光旅館、 電力設施 、商場，而且政府有各項優惠措施 ，凡是在圭亞那居住五年以上即可拿到圭亞那居留權 ，享有所有公民待遇。

圭亞那將必然會成為世界上最有錢的國家之一， 其驚人之石油天然氣產量將為人口僅有不到八十萬的彈丸小國成為經濟之傳奇。

我們決定近期內在美南電視環球電視劇坊舉行圭亞那投資座談會， 來為這個盛產石油之南美小國招商引資， 歡迎大家到時參加。

應圭亞那政府之邀， 我們將組成一個代表團近期前往考察访問。

ITC Trade Mission Will Visit Guyana Soon 

Just this afternoon I visited Honorable Lutfi Hassan, the  honorary Consul General of Guyana and our two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation on economic, culture and education between the ITC membership and Guyana.

The only country that speaks English in South America has a population of 800,000, mainly composed of 30% African decendants and 40% Indian immigrants. 

In 2019, the national GDP was only $3.83 billion with a per capita annual income of about $4800.00 dollars and it was considered a poor country dependent on debt relief. 

However, in 2015, ExxonMobil found an oilfield near the ocean of about 8 billion barrels in the waters of Guyana. According to estimates, it could produce 1.1 million barrels of oil every day. It will exceed the oil outputs of Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and  Saudi Arabia and become one of the richest nations in the world. 

Consul General Hassan told me they welcome all kinds of investment including infrastructure, power, energy, shopping centers, hotels, schools and hospitals. Anyone who stays in Guyana for more than five  years will get a green card and can apply to become a citizen of Guyana. 

We have decided to hold a Guyana Investment Symposium at our TV studio in the near future and ITC will organzine a trade mission to visit this soon-to-be one of the richest countries in the world.
