支持好友莫禮納進軍市議會

週五傍晚 ，在美南電視環球劇坊為多年好友莫禮納舉辦了一場競選募款餐會， 她將在今年十一月參加大休斯敦第二選區之市議員， 我們對她的當選有十足信心。

莫禮納早年畢業於康乃爾大學， 曾經在市政府服務多年 ，我認識她時已轉任到藍十字醫療保健公司， 在她的協助下我們多次舉辦社區文化活動， 教育講座對華亞裔有極大之貢獻及影響。

休斯敦市議員選舉基本上分兩大類，  其中包括分區及全市， 尤其是全市市議員至少要二十萬票以上才有機會當選， 當然競選經費也得數十萬以上。

莫禮納是少數種裔中能夠在名牌大學畢業而且在公職及大企業服務過的候選人， 曾經當選三十位最傑出之女性人物， 尤其對社區醫療福利及市政府之運作非常了解。

我們也要呼籲華亞裔社區必須積極參加各種政治競選活動 ，最好是自己能親自出馬，否則就來支持要參選的候選人，出錢、 出力去投票 ，才能顯示我們的影響力。

天下沒有白吃的午餐， 任何事唯有不斷耕耘才會有收穫， 政治上的成果更是如此。

Support Marina Angelica Coryat's March Into Houston City Hall 

On Friday evening we hosted a party for our dear friend Marina Coryat. She is running for City Council At Large #2. We are so happy and honored to be on her team.  

A graduate of Cornell University, Marina was the Senior Manager of Community Affairs and Investments for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas South East Region. She strengthened the brand's reputation and presence in the region by engaging in specific community involvement activities, managing strategic corporate investments and establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial media, government and key stakeholder relationships, as well as directing the employee volunteer programs. 

She is now running for City Council At Large #2. She needs at least need twenty thousand votes and financial support. We also want to call on the Asian American community to actively participate in the election, not just to go out and vote, but also we need to donate funds to the candidate. 

We all know that there is no "free lunch." Everything we need requires to be cultivated before we can reap the harvest.
