國際區打造人文藝術之園地

多年來我們在國際區從規劃到實施之各項方案， 除了謀求經濟上之繁榮及治安改善工作之外， 其中對人文藝術體育方面也加大增設諸多之埸地， 促使國際區發展成為全方位之社區。

位於卡武路上的艾利夫社區綜合服務中心已經開幕近半年之久，這座由市政府耗資近六千萬之綜合大樓， 佔地數十畝，設有大型足球、 游泳、 運動塲， 超過七萬呎之三層大樓內設图書館， 老人服務運動房、 醫療中心及部分市府办事處， 其新穎現代化之設施堪設全市公共建築物之冠。

過去多年來， 我們在比其那路段設有國際公園， 從艾利夫學區租賃之數十畝土地設有菜埔、果園， 每月只收五元給區民們種菜及水果， 我們提供水電及維護大環境， 如今百花盛開， 果實纍纍， 尤其在週末全家到此同樂。 

位於八號公路及百利大道之國際門走廊， 已由名建築師李兆瓊兄全力規劃之中， 這座走進國際區之大門， 企望在二十個月內完工， 屆時將成為本市之一道風景線。

今天我們全體國際區的執行理事及工作同仁， 一貫以愛土愛鄉的精神 ，才建造一個有蘊藏文化經濟族裔團結之社區， 為美國新移民寫下歷史之篇章。

  The International District Builds A Garden Of Humanities And Arts

Over the years, in addition to the economic prosperity and public safety improvements, we have also increased the establishment of many places for the humanities, arts and sports in the International District.

The Alief Community Center was funded by the City of Houston and nearly sixty million dollars was spent in our district and it has been open for nearly one-half year now. The center covers more than fifty acres and includes a full service library, senior sports activities and city services. It is the largest city building with more than 70,000 square feet.

In the last ten years, we also have created the International Garden to let people garden on their own leased land to grow fruits and  vegetables.

Just last week, we also signed a contract with the architect to start the plans for an International Gate near Beltway 8 and Bellaire Blvd. We expect that the project will be completed within 20 months. 

All the projects we are doing right now have been planned to really upgrade our area in many aspects. We want our district to become a showcase for our city’s diverse people and cultures. 

We all love our community, but we need to build a safe and colorful city for our next generation.
