精神疾病之重大隱憂

年輕貌美的哈里斯郡法官赫大哥因憂鬱症需請假休養，以她在政壇上之地位這是她做出非常大膽之告白。 

根據德州一项最新之統計， 德州州民有百分之二十一患有精神疾病者沒有健康保險， 而我們設有之公立診療所是全美比例最少的州 ， 其中有赫里斯郡醫療中心及德州醫療中心設有少數之診所。

今天社會變遷及生活之壓力造成人們在精神上之創傷， 就連我們的郡法官都遭受到精神憂郁病之苦， 何況是一般大眾， 尤其是沒有保險者， 更是求助無門。

我們對於這位來自哥倫比亞之移民能登上政治舞台是大家的榜樣， 我們十分敬佩她面對現實之勇氣， 也希望她能早日康復， 再登上政治舞台 ，為社會國家繼續服務。

Major Hidden Worries About Mental Illness

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo made a personal decision to seek help for her depression. Her action really opens up an important issue for our society today. 

According to a survey, 21% of Texans with mental illness have no medical insurance and we are among the areas with the fewest mental health treatment centers. But we do have a strong mental health organization in Harris County that can help to advocate for mental health service. But they need more support from our community. 

Today’s fast pace of social changes and the pressures of life have caused most people’s mental trauma today. Even our county judge has suffered from mental depression. What’s more, the general public, especially those with insurance coverage, have no way to ask for help. 

Judge Hidalgo is an immigrant from Colombia. She is a role model for all of us. We admire her courage to face reality and get professional help. We hope she will recover soon and return to serving our community.
