芝加哥我們來了

今午趕著前往芝加哥之西南航空班機 ，由于交通阻塞， 幾乎趕不上， 幸而我有机場特別通道證， 最後五分鐘總算搭上了飞機。

疫情前後， 我也未能去芝城探望胞弟著華和其他報社同仁 ，由于他們之堅守陣地， 努力不懈 ，我們始終在美中這塊土地上創造了媒體之傳奇。 

我們已經記不起多少個清晨和黃昏我和著弟走遍了美國各地大小城鎮之角落， 捲起袖子， 執筆深耕寫出社會之真相和呐喊。 時至今日 ，我們還是緊握看自己之電腦屏幕每天寫下一篇自己之感受短文 ，希望在極為艱辛的海外華人傳媒事業， 拼搏出一條血路也盼望和我們一起打拼之伙伴不要氣餒 。

《芝加哥時報》在著華弟之全力拼搏下， 已經是大家不可缺之精神良伴和支柱， 對社區之關怀從不落人之後。 

此行我們特別前來參加全美李氏公所大會，我們和李氏宗親之淵源早在來美初抵舊金山時已經开始， 傳統僑社們對於慎宗追遠視為華夏子孫之信念， 令人肅然起敬。

友人戱稱我們可能是蒙古人成吉斯汗後裔，因為我們在美洲大地也似乎有勇敢𧗾刺之精神 。

  Chicago We Are Coming  

This afternoon, right after the bank's board meeting, I rushed to Hobby Airport to try and catch a Southwest Air flight to Chicago, but because of the heavy traffic, I almost missed the flight.

It has been long time since I have been to Chicago to visit my brother Dan, partly because of the pandemic. Today, our newspaper, the Chicago Chinese Times, under my brother's strong leadership and the people's hard work, the newspaper has become very a important part of the             community. 

Many years have passed and I remember Dan and I went to many cities across America. In the early morning or late in the night, we continued to    write the news and deliver the newspapers. I told my brother at the time, that, "We have no way out. We must go forward to fight for our survival."
