國際族裔文化經濟大聯盟

來自德州休斯敦各大族裔代表週三中午聚集在美南電視環球劇場， 共同討論如何結合各族裔之力量， 為休斯敦文化經濟之繁榮共同努力。

我在會中首先祝賀惠特邁參議員高票當選了休斯敦市長 ，在他的就職演說中希望全面服務所有市民， 並且高度重視各大族裔之團結和和諧。

當天出席的包括華亞裔、 非裔 、拉丁裔、 印裔、 各社區之代表， 大家非常熱烈的討論如何加強彼此間之互助合作。

大會決定共同成立休斯敦國際社區文化經濟大聯盟， 主要是展開在全市慶祝各族裔之文化活動， 透過銀行金融機構協助中小企業之發展， 為大家創業和促進社區之繁榮。

我們決定於今年二月十日在西南區職訓中心大樓舉行迎接龍年嘉華年會，屆時由市長領銜邀請全市市民共有慶祝， 同時也策劃四月下旬舉辦國際區大遊行及美食節來推動休斯敦之觀光及旅遊。

新任市长惠特邁對此表示高度重視和支持， 相信這將是發揚族群文化交流之新篇章。

Houston International Community Initiative Group 

Representatives of major ethnic groups from the Houston area gathered at the STV Global studio Wednesday at 12noon to discuss how best to combine the power        of all the ethnic groups and work effectively together for the prosperity of Houston’s multi-cultural economy. 

At the meeting, we all were so happy that our friend Senator Whitmire has become the new mayor of Houston. In his inaugural speech, he expressed that he wants to serve all the citizens of the city and he likewise attached great importance to the promotion of unity and harmony among all ethnic groups. 

Representatives from the Asian, African and Latino communities attended the meeting. Everyone participated in a very enthusiastic discussion on how to strengthen mutual assistance and cooperation among all ethnic groups.

The group at the meeting agreed to establish a Houston International Initiative Group which mainly will celebrate the many cultural activities of all the groups and also will assist many businesses through the various banking and financial service opportunities available in the community. 

The group also decided to host a Welcome Lunar New Tera celebration on February 10, 2024, at the Alief Career Center and also planned to hold an international parade and food festival in late April of this year. 

Our new Mayor Whitmire expressed great importance and support for  this new multi-ethnic participation concept and said he believes this      is a positive new chapter for the city.
