溫馨集會 友情永固

週末參加了麥醫生主辦的蘋果電視新春晚會， 在越裔美妙舞姿及樂聲中， 大家在享用精美餐點之際， 更漾溢在越南族群之新春佳節氛圍之中， 我代表國際區向麥醫生所建立之事業王國及她對社區之貢獻表示由衷之祝賀。

麥醫生係在越南戰後來到美國的難民， 當她苦學成為牙科醫生後， 先後在大休斯敦地區創建了近二十家蘋果牙醫診所 。以企業管理方式成立地建造了牙醫王國， 為廣大市民提供便捷、 廉價及優質服務， 在事業有成之時 也成為國際區軌行理事， 積極參與改善區內治安經濟工作， 並主持國際區大門之籌建工程。

參加當晚的還有環球第一銀行常務董事黃泰生伉儷， 美南新聞社社長朱勤勤以及國際區執行理事史蒂文黎， 我們非常興奮他的身體康復迅速， 也同時上台致贈紀念品給晚會主麥醫生。

我們應該非常慶幸在這片土地上相互支持， 親如手足， 如今更能服務社區 ，真是感恩再感恩。

Warm Gathering With Friendships Forever

On the weekend, we participated in the Apple Dental Spring Festival Gala hosted by Dr. Mai and her husband. With the wonderful dance and music, all of the guests enjoyed exquisite Vietnanese cuisine. I represented the International District to express our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Mai and the “empire” she has built in Houston. 

Dr.  Mai is our Asian role model. She was a refugee who came from Vietnam after the war. With her hard work, she become a dentist and has established more than 20 dental clinics in the greater Houston area. Her dental "kingdom" is managed using a form of corporate management that provides convenient, affordable and high-quality dental services to the general public. In the meantime, she also actively serves on the board of the International District focusing on the improvement of public safety and economic growth in our area. She also presides over the construction of the International Gate now being built in our district. 

Also attending that night were Dr. Sam Huang, Executive Board Member of Global One Bank, Mrs. Catherine Lee, President of Southern News Group and well-known business executive and board member of the International District, Mr. Stephen Le Sr. We were very excited and happy to learn about his fast recovery. He also went on the stage to present souvenirs and gifts to Dr. Mai. 

We should all feel very grateful that we came to this land. We have all become as close as brothers and sisters who support each other while continuing to serve our community.
