台灣人之焦慮

日前有幾位從休斯敦回台灣定居之友人，在回來後之聚會上，大話他們回去後之感想，在他們年青時來到美國打拼，青春都獻給了美國，退休後以養老退休金，在故鄉享受黃金年華之退休生活，何嗜不是一個非常圓滿之安排。但是從他們之言談中，故鄉已經變色了，和他們童年時的台灣已經是今非昔比。

今天台灣海峽之緊張情勢是他們最擔心的事，不過他們已經向美國在台協會登記，如果需要撤僑時，他們相信自己會被安置在外海之美國軍艦上去。

國民黨前主席甫自中國大陸訪問回來，最大之亮點是希望中華民族一詞來建造共同之信念，海峽兩岸不再兵兇戰危。

立法院國民黨籍立法委員下週也將集體訪問大陸，他們希望恢復兩岸觀光交流，多賣此鳳梨酥、水產、水果到大陸，解決民生問題。

他們到大陸去訪問有錯嗎? 政府不但不該阻止，應該大力支持才對！

Anxiety Among The Taiwanese People
Recently, some friends who had settled in Taiwan after living in Houston for decades gathered for a reunion. They shared their thoughts on returning to Taiwan after spending their youth in the United States and retiring with a pension to enjoy their golden years in their hometown. However, they expressed concerns about how their homeland has changed and how Taiwan today is much different from their childhood memories.
The tense situation in the Taiwan Strait is their biggest worry. Nevertheless, they have registered with the American Institute in Taiwan in case an evacuation should become necessary, firmly believing that they will be accommodated by U.S. warships in offshore waters.
The recent visit of former KMT chairman Ma ying-Jeou to China was a major highlight that emphasized shared beliefs and hopes for peaceful cross-strait relations.
