大休斯敦在歴經貝爾利颱風過境，一陣強勁風吹把墨西哥灣沿岸各大小城市帶來了災難。兩百萬家戶沒有電,交通大亂,網路也多半癱瘓,加油站沒有油，商店也無法開門營業,真是一場混亂和災難。

市長惠特曼在全力指揮市區之救援及安全工作，昨晚因沒有街燈,一些地區並實施戒嚴以防止犯罪行為。

世界氣候變遷致使各種災難也接踵而來,每年之颱風季節也提早而來，這些天然災害是無法阻擋而需要全球各國領袖來共同努力，防止情勢之惡化。

Hurricane Beryl Has Paralyzed The Greater Houston Area

Strong winds and rain in the Greater Houston area after the arrival of Hurricane Beryl has brought numerous disasters to all large and small cities along the Gulf coast. Two million households are without electricity, traffic is in chaos and the internet network is almost paralyzed.

Mayor Whitmire was fully directing the rescue and safety work in the city. Last night some of the areas declared an early curfew due to the lack of security on the streets along with the gas stations reporting that they had run out of gas.

The world's climate change challenge has caused various disasters around the globe including the hurricane season which has arrived early this year. These natural disasters are unstoppable and require the leaders of the world to work together to prevent further deterioration of the situation.

Today in our International District, most of the small businesses are still without power, so how can long can they wait for help to survive?
I am also thinking why is our infrastructure is so weak and inefficient?
