中秋老友團聚倍感溫馨

慶祝中秋佳節，特邀德州潮州會館全體理事，由馬克通會長及劉義安名譽會長偕同二十多位理事來到我們家之後院,共慶中秋佳節,也籍此敍舊共話家常。

潮州人是我華人在全球各地之表率，尤其在工商界在世界各國皆有非常雄厚之實力，在德州休斯敦他們在華人超市界執牛耳之地位。

令人更加感動的是，凡是有潮州人之地方都設有潮州會館及華文學校，在休斯敦國際區之本頭公廟即是由潮州同鄉們集资興建，廟內不但香火鼎盛，而且設有華文學校繼續教導下一代孩童，發揚華夏傳統文化其精神值得敬佩和學習。

美南新聞自創刊以來,和潮州會館共同成長，數十年之情誼一直以來都是親如手足,眼看他們在這塊土地上之成就也是華裔之驕傲。

Reunion With Old Friends At Mid-Autumn

To celebrate the mid-Autumn Festival, all of the board members of the Chaozhou Association came to our house and enjoyed a warm reunion with our old friends.

The Chaozhou people are a great example of Chinese around the world and are very successful in the business world. Especially in the Texas area, they own many supermarkets and other businesses. What is even more noteworthy and touching is that where the Chaozhou live, there are temples and schools.The temple in the International Distict was built by them. The temple is not just full of incense, but it also has a Chinese school to teach and guide the kids and to carry on their traditional culture.

Our newspaper has been here for more than four decades and we have grown together with the local community. We are so proud that the Chaozhou people are so successful in this land which we all now call home.
