前總統卡特今天慶祝他百歲生日時表示,他的長壽秘訣是有一位好伴侶,好太太,這份堅強之夫妻關係是他生活之泉源。

吉米卡特曾於一九七七年至一九八一年擔任第三十九屆總統，在他任內於一九七九年宣布和中國大陸建立正式外交關係，從此改變了世界之政治格局。在其任內因通貨膨脹整個國家經濟進入衰退,銀行利率高達百分之十五以上，在此同時伊朗暴徒佔領了美國大使館遭到無比之恥辱,因而使卡特喪失聯任下屆總統之機會。

目前他是美國有史以來現任最年長之總統,卡特出身花生農家,早年曾服務於海軍及教會牧師,他是標準出身農家之總統，離開白宮後他重返老家鄉下生活,返璞歸真是他長壽之原因。

Former President Jimmy Carter is officially 100 years old today. He credits his longevity to the strong relationships in his life, especially in his marriage.

Jimmy Carter served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. During his tenure he announced the establishment of a formal diplomatic relationship between China and the United States in 1979, which changed the political landscape of the world. During 

his tenure, the whole country fell into a recession due to inflation, and bank interest rates went as high as more than 15%. At the same time, Iranian thugs occupied the U.S. Embassy and Carter suffered extreme humiliation, thus causing him to lose the opportunity to remain as president.

At the present time, Carter is the oldest living president in the history of the United States. Carter was born on a peanut farm and has served in the U.S. Navy and as a pastor. After he left the White House, he returned to his hometown and returned to life in the countryside. This may be the reason for his longevity.
