Celebrating Thanksgiving Day All Together

Early on Thursday morning, I climbed aboard the float of the Houston International District in the cold wind to participate in the Annual Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade

in downtown with many beautiful women in a variety of different costumes from many countries all around the world.

With the celebrating sounds of gongs and drums, there were colorful marching teams and bands from various middle and high schools, universities and the Rockets basketball team. What is even more shocking was that a formation of Dragons had arrived in the clouds and  appeared to be coiled right

in the sky above us. They really added the flavor of the Chinese culture to the colorful parade.

The long line of the parade included more than one hundred floats and marching teams, from

the traditional American cowboys and women on motorcycles and riding teams, to Mexican and Latino hot dances and all received the cheers and screams of the crowd

and it was as though we were imitating a huge international family moving down the street. Bursts of laughter and long floats passed through Mayor Whitmire’s platform and

all the excitement proved that here in Houston, Texas, we are the melting pot of many diverse ethnic groups.

This was the first time for us to attend the 75th Anniversary of the parade, and this Thanksgiving Day represented our deep gratitude to the country, the society and all the parents and friends.

When I stood on the float and rode around Main Street in downtown, hundreds of thousands

of citizens were crowded on both sides of the road, waving flags and shouting,  "Thank you!"

We express our love for this land and we do not forget the traditional culture which we brought to America.

We saw hundreds of thousands of smiling faces today that were very touching and tearful, and we see that the world is still full of laughter and warmth
