教宗方濟將安葬於羅馬聖母大殿

My heart feels especially heavy today. Pope Francis, at the age of 88, passed away on Monday due to a stroke and irreversible heart failure. The Vatican confirmed that the first Latin American pope in history died peacefully in his residence. It’s hard to believe that just a day earlier, he was riding in an open vehicle, smiling and waving to thousands of Easter pilgrims in St. Peter’s Square — a final gesture of grace and strength.

In a will written in June 2022, he stated: “When I sense that my earthly life is nearing its twilight, with steadfast hope in eternal life, I wish only to express my final desire regarding my burial place.”
Now, he will be laid to rest at the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome — a place of deep devotion and peace.
Though he has left this world, his compassion, humility, and unwavering faith remain with us.
