在這個以移民立國的國度裡，無數家庭懷抱著對美國夢的渴望，來到這片土地努力打拚。他們在農田、建築工地、餐館與照護機構中默默耕耘，成為支撐經濟與社會運作不可或缺的一環。然而，因為法律制度的滯後，許多居民長期處於沒有身分保障的灰色地帶，生活在恐懼與不安中，無法真正融入社會，無法為子女規劃未來，更無法為國家作出更全面的貢獻。

我們主張，國會應正視這個沉痾已久的社會問題，儘速修訂相關移民法規，推動特赦政策，讓長期在美生活、工作、納稅的居民能夠合法化其身分，走向陽光，實現美國應許之地所承諾的公平與自由。

這不僅是人道的選擇，更是理性的決策。特赦並非縱容非法，而是對歷史現實的誠實回應，是對於制度漏洞與延誤的補救，也是對多年貢獻與守法生活者的正當回報。透過立法實施有條件、有審查機制的特赦政策，我們能夠讓社會更穩定、經濟更健康、安全機構的資源也能更有效運用。

They cannot fully integrate into society, cannot plan a future for their children, and cannot contribute to this country to their fullest potential.

We call on Congress to confront this long-standing issue with urgency and courage. It is time to reform our immigration laws and implement a fair and humane amnesty policy. Residents who have lived, worked, and paid taxes in the U.S. for many years deserve the opportunity to legalize their status and step into the light.
