Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Visits The International Trade Center
Today, the International Trade Center welcomed a most distinguished guest— Commissioner Sid Miller of the Texas Department of Agriculture. This was not merely a ceremonial visit, but rather a symbolic moment signaling the deepening ties between Texas agriculture and international trade.
The Commissioner’s arrival filled the grand hall with an atmosphere that was both solemn and celebratory. Among the attendees were not only representatives from the local business community, but also international corporate and civic leaders and members of the international diplomatic corp. In their exchanges of greetings and glances, one could sense the anticipation of future cooperation.
In his remarks, the Commissioner emphasized the diversity and competitiveness of Texas agriculture, expressing his willingness to promote a broader integration of Texas agricultural products into the global marketplace. This vision perfectly aligns with the mission of the International Trade Center: to connect local strength with a global outlook.
Standing at the scene, I couldn’t help but reflect: agriculture is not only about feeding people, but also about building bridges of culture and economy. When Texas beef, cotton, and wine reach the world, and when Asian teas and spices enter the Texas market, what is exchanged is not only commerce, but also an appreciation of new ways of life and cultural traditions.
On this day, the International Trade Center once again became a stage where both East and West converged. I seemed to glimpse a new scroll steadily unfurling—painted with agriculture as its main brushstroke—stretching from the soil of Texas to the markets of the world.
