The United States has lost one of its most influential Republican leaders. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina passed away on July 11 following a brief and sudden illness at the age of 71. His death marks the end of a political career that spanned more than three decades and leaves a significant void in the U.S. Senate. 

A veteran lawmaker, Graham served in the U.S. House of Representatives before being elected to the Senate in 2002. Throughout his career, he became one of the Senate’s leading voices on national security, foreign policy, and judicial affairs.
