和休斯敦主计长对话

在华裔社区服务中心芮主任之安排下， 我和西南区管理委员会主席李雄一起会见了刚上任的市府主计长何黎及副主计长路易， 共同讨论如何展开对社区之服务。

民选之主计长之地位仅次於市长， 是掌控财政支出大権之主管官员， 他曾经在2020 年总统大选时职掌赫里斯郡之总统大选活动，通过二十四小时汽车投票而名声大燥於全国。

何黎主计长允诺今后将加强对华亚裔社区之服务， 其中包括将市府之存款部份转移到华亚裔社区银行， 举办各项市政财务座谈， 让市民们更多瞭解市府财务情况。

陪同他一起会见的还有副主计长路易斯， 我们在会中简报了国际区及西南区发展及二月十日举行之庆祝新年游园会及休斯敦国际工商大展， 预计在年底前扩展至全球招商活动， 帮助活络休斯敦地区之贸易投资活动。

We Meet With Houston's City Controller

Under the arrangement of the Director of Community Engagement, JoAnne Ray, Kennth Li, Chairman of the Southwestern District, and I met with our newly elected City Controller Chris Hollis and Deputy Controller Vernon Lewis at City Hall on Monday. 

Chris Hollis once took charge of the voting of the 2020 Presidential election in Harris County. Now he is second in power in the City of Houston. In our meeting, he promised to strengthen services to the Asian community including the transfer of some city funds to be deposited in Asian and minority owned banks, and to hold various financial symposiums to teach people about how the business of city finance is conducted.    

We reported to him about the coming celebration of the Lunar New Year and the International Expo on Feb. 10th next month. We would really like to team up with the City of Houston to promote trade and cultural events around the world.
