Big Apple Still Facing Big Challenge
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said that the three Upstate New York Regions (the Mohawk Valley, the Southern Tier and the Finger Lakes regions) are set to partially reopen this Friday with limited construction, manufacturing and curbside retail.
The New York Democrats also are telling the national party that the June 23 primary will proceed. Because of public health concerns related to the coronavirus, New York’s Board of Election has cancelled the primary. But a federal judge subsequently ordered the primary to be restored to June 23 after the former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang sued to block the move.
Seven weeks have passed since the coronavirus caused the Big Apple to be shut down. More than 19,000 New Yorkers have lost their lives and hundreds of thousands have lost their livelihoods. The virus is still spreading on the subways, small alleys and other public places.
Unfortunately, on the world stage we are still witnessing leaders who insist on their personal views rather than having us all working together to fight this pandemic.
In the White House, Vice President Mike Pence’s Press Secretary Katie Miller and three other officers tested positive for the coronavirus last week.
We are urging all the nations of the world to call an emergency meeting to find the fastest and most effective solutions for solving the biggest challenge facing mankind.
