慶祝幾內亞國慶日

旅居在德州地區的幾內亞僑民領袖今午前來會面商討如何慶祝幾內亞共和國國慶日， 最終決定在十月七日推出整天之活動 ，包括白天的郊遊及晚上的娛樂表演。

居住在德州三大城市之幾內亞裔僑民大約只有千餘人， 他們多半是來美留學後成為專業人士， 並且有許多從事中小企業並卓有所成。

在我過去擔任幾內亞駐德州名譽總領事迄今， 早在年前曾籌組投資考察團前往西非訪問， 但因疫情關係一直延宕， 上月前往華府和新任幾內亞大使商議決定今年底前成行。

幾內亞係西非較落後之地區， 但是該國礦產豐富， 瀕臨大海，非常有開拓觀光之條件。

對於擔任這項外交任務， 我感到十分榮幸， 希望對幾內亞之經濟發展盡份力量。

Celebrating The Republic of Guinea’s National Day

We had a meeting with the Guinea community leaders in our office yesterday to discuss how to celebrate their National Day. They finally decided to launch an all day of activities on October 7, including a day time picnic and an evening of entertainment. 

There are only about one thousand Guineans living in the Texas area. Most of them came to America to study, and later most of them became professionals and businessmen. 

Since I serve as the Honorary Consul of Guinea in Houston, we have been planning to organize a trade mission to visit Guinea. But because of pandemic, we had to cancel the trip. Last month when I visited the new Guinea Ambassador in Washington, DC, we decided to visit Guinea at the end of this year. 

Guinea is a country that is rich with minerals and also has a great opportunity to develop their tourism industry. 

I feel very honored to take this mission and I will do my best to help the economic development of Guinea.
