休斯敦市長最後決勝負

美國第四大城之市長鹿死誰手将定於十二月九日揭曉，兩位政壇老將都在做最後衝刺， 希望當上這座多元族裔之大城市之首長。

根據最新之民意測驗，州參議員惠特邁仍然領先國會議員希拉積克遜李百分之七，上次之得票數是一萬七千四百一十票對九萬零九十三票， 惠特邁領先約百分之七 ，其他十四人都被丟在後面。

休斯敦是全美各族裔最多之大城市， 近年本全球各國之新移民也包括成千上萬的加州人不斷湧入， 同樣也造成治安問題及公共設施之不足。 

新市長面對之重大問題自然是治安和經濟問題， 其中亦包括如何處理流浪漢、 交通紊亂等問題。

我們寄望新的市領導， 一定要拿出勇氣𣁽力 ，全面改組市政行政管理人員， 提高效率才是全市民之福。

Houston Mayoral Runoff Election Update-

The results of the Houston Mayoral election runoff will be announced on December 9th after the runoff is completed. Two political veterans will be competing in the race.

According to the latest poll, State Senator John Whitmire is 7 points ahead of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, the same point spread as in the earlier election.

Houston is the largest city in the United States that is home to several ethnic groups. In recent years, large numbers of new immigrants from all over the world, as well as many newcomers from California, have moved to our city. 

Naturally, the major issues facing the new mayor will be public safety and economic issues.

We all hope that the new mayor will show courage and reorganize the city government in order to improve the efficiency of the city administration.
