國際區工作繼續往前推進

今午我依例主持了每月的國際區工作月會， 聽取各委員會之財務、 治安及活動建設報告，我們對於這份成績單表示高度之讃揚。

治安工作是我們重中之重，近幾年來一直聘用私人保安工作執行巡邏任務， 配合休斯敦警方清除賭館等不良行業 ，防止盜竊及減緩犯罪皆有重大突破。在整治街道及美化市容促進商業發展，也是我們主要之旋政事項。

在文化交流社區服務方面，我們成功舉辦了大遊行， 增設獎學金， 參加警民活動促進族群和諧。

位於國際區中心之社區服務大樓在市政府斥資六千萬元興建完工後已經正式對外開放， 由國際區規劃之菜園也為市民提供種菜種花之園地。

新任惠特曼市長曾經多次讃揚國際區代表了我們多元族裔文化之成功範例。

Progress Continues On The International District Work

I chaired our monthly International District meeting as scheduled.    We heard reports on finance, security and various activities as reported form various committees, and we highly commend the achievements reflected in these reports. 

Public safety issues remain our top priority, and in recent years, we have consistently engaged private security personnel to carry out patrol duties in coordination with 

the Houston Police Department to eliminate illicit industries such as gambling dens, and have made significant breakthroughs in preventing theft and reducing crime. 

Our efforts to clean up the streets, beautify the cityscape and promote commercial development constitutes meeting the goals on our governance agenda. 

In term of culture exchange and community service, we successfully organized a grand parade, established scholarships and participated in police and community events to interact with the community and bring harmony.
