生還者紀念活動

赫里斯郡醫院基金會週三舉辦了生還者紀念活動餐會, 邀請了數百位在赫里斯郡醫院中被急救成功之生還者，和當時救護他們的醫生、護士們有一個溫馨感人之聚會。

餐會上之主持人是赫里斯郡醫療系統總裁波沙醫生主持, 他首先感謝基金會主辦這場感人之聚會，如此眾多之生還者在過去一年來在醫療人員之搶救下能夠生還及恢復健康。

赫里斯郡屬下有五大大型醫院，其中有本塔和詹森兩大醫院之緊急救護中心，擔負起休斯敦市之緊急救護任務。去年一年就有超過十萬人在緊急狀況中得到救助，其中以車禍為最多。

在餐會上許多被送到救急中心的生還者講述了如何從死裡逃生之故事,他們深深感謝醫護人員之仁慈愛心，在他們遇到事故之後能得到救助。

基金會執行長貝克在會中表示這項聚會，说明了我們社會充滿愛心， 基金會透過善人善款之捐助多年來已經給予赫里斯郡醫療系統捐助超過了一億二千五百萬美金，過去十六年來我忝為董事成員，也分享了這份榮耀。

 Trauma Survivors Celebration

The Harris County Hospital District Foundation hosted a Trauma Survivors Celebration event dinner last Wednesday and invited hundreds of survivors who were successfully treated at the Harris County hospitals together with the medical staff who saved them, to gather for a heartwarming and touching event.

During the event, Dr. Porsa, president of the Harris Health System, expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for organizing this touching party where so many survivors over the past year were able to recover and survive with the help of professional medical personnel.

Harris County has five major hospitals, including Ben Taub and Lyndon Johnson whose Emergency Centers  

are responsible for Emergency medical services in the Houston area. Over 100,000 people received assistance in emergency situations last year, highlighting the crucial role of these facilities and their medical professionals in saving lives and providing care.

At the party, many survivors who  were taken to the Emergency Center shared their stories of escaping death and expressed their deep gratitude for the compassionate care they received  from the medical personnel after their accidents.

Harris County Hospital District Foundation Executive Director Jeffery Baker mentioned in his closing remarks that this event demonstrates the kindness and compassion prevalent   

in our society today. Through the generosity of donors, the Foundation has contributed over $25 million to the Harris County Health System. Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of serving as a board member with HCHD and sharing in this prestigeous honor.
