索薩大使來訪

美國巴拿馬工商協進會會長索薩大使週四中午來訪國際貿易中心,我們熱情地接待這位資深外交官,並且進行了親切友善之交流。

索薩大使曾任巴拿馬駐休斯敦總领事及駐美國大使,在他的外交生涯中最令人印象深刻的是在其任職駐美大使期間代表巴拿馬成立臨時流亡政府，一直到美國入侵巴拿馬抓走了當時之總統而結束內戰。在他駐休斯敦總領事任內曾經擔任過外交領事團團長,他在外交界之關係非常良好。

如今他組成美巴工商會每年定期組成工商投資團前往巴拿馬及中南美洲各國進行交流訪問,全面推動區域性經濟之整合和繁榮。

國際貿易中心和美南集團及環球第一銀行將計劃展開對墨西哥及巴拿馬之經貿交流,並輔導有意前往該地區投資之工商人士進行搭橋鋪路之工作。

我們非常欣幸在展開美國對中南美洲各國之工作將跨出一大步，也是我們成立國際貿易中心之初衷和宗旨。 索薩大使也同意出任我們的高級顧問一職，共同為今後之對外交流而努力。

 Ambassador Sosa’s Visit

Ambasador Juan Sosa, President of the U.S-Panama Business Association, visited the International Trade Center at noon on Thursday. We warmly received the senior diplomat and had a very cordial and friendly exchange.

Ambasador Sosa has served as the Consul General of Panama in Houston and as the Panamanian Ambasador to the United States. The most impressive thing in his diplomatic career was that he established a provisional government-in-exile for Panama until the U.S. invaded Panama during that time and captured the president. He also has served as the Dean of the Consular Corps of Houston.

Now he has formed the U.S.-Panama Business Association and has visited Panama and other Latin American countries to promote trade and tourism.

In today's discussion, we agreed to promote events together and the ambasador agreed to serve as our advisor.
