慶賀印度印西亞共和國國慶

應印尼駐休斯敦總領事麗東格之邀請,昨晚在印尼總領事館參加盛大的國慶慶祝酒會,來自休斯敦領事團之各國總領事外交官及美國國務院南部辦事處何主任偕代表出席,在傳統之印尼歌舞及服裝表演節目中，大家共同祝賀印尼建國七十五週年慶。

印尼是全世界人口数量位居第四的國家,人口超過2.7億,也是全球第十六位經濟體,是全球最大的群島國家，人民多半信奉回教,實施共和國體制。 經過荷蘭三百五十年殖民統治後在二次大戰後才獨立, 但是由於分離主義，天災和贪污，國家面臨嚴重挑戰。但是近年來新政府實施新政策，經濟發展潛力劇增，人民生活得到全面改善。

印尼資源丰富，且盛產石油,近年來策劃遷移首都之大動作，現在首都耶加達將來正面临逐年下䧟。

麗東格總領事在歡迎會上表示美印兩國建交七十五週年以來，雙方關係良好，民間交流非常密切。

我們已當面邀請總領事近期內到美南新聞中心訪問，並举辦座談會，為印尼進行宣傳及招商活動。

Celebrating The National Day Of Indonesia

At the invitation of the Consul General of Indonesia, Ourina Ritonga, we attended the National Day celebration at the Indonesian Consulate General in Houston. Many consuls from different countries and the U.S. State Department Regional Director Katherine Ho were among the guests. In the traditional songs and dance performance programs, everyone congratulated the 78th founding of Indonesia.

Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world, with a population of more than 270 million. It is also the 16th largest economy in the world. After 35 years of colonial rule by the Dutch, it did not become independent until after World 

War II, and due to separatism, the country faced many challenges. However, in recent years, the new government has implemented new policies. Now today, the potential for economic growth has increased sharply and the people‘s lives have been greatly improved.

Indonesia is rich in resources including oil. In recent years, they have moved their capital to a new location.

We have invited Consul General Ritonga to visit our office in the near future. We plan to hold a symposium to promote and attract investment in Indonesia.
