庆贺印度印西亚共和国国庆

应印尼驻休斯敦总领事丽东格之邀请,昨晚在印尼总领事馆参加盛大的国庆庆祝酒会,来自休斯敦领事团之各国总领事外交官及美国国务院南部办事处何主任偕代表出席,在传统之印尼歌舞及服装表演节目中，大家共同祝贺印尼建国七十五週年庆。

印尼是全世界人口数量位居第四的国家,人口超过2.7亿,也是全球第十六位经济体,是全球最大的群岛国家，人民多半信奉回教,实施共和国体制。 经过荷兰三百五十年殖民统治后在二次大战后才独立, 但是由於分离主义，天灾和贪污，国家面临严重挑战。但是近年来新政府实施新政策，经济发展潜力剧增，人民生活得到全面改善。

印尼资源丰富，且盛產石油,近年来策划迁移首都之大动作，现在首都耶加达将来正面临逐年下䧟。

丽东格总领事在欢迎会上表示美印两国建交七十五週年以来，双方关係良好，民间交流非常密切。

我们已当面邀请总领事近期内到美南新闻中心访问，并举办座谈会，為印尼进行宣传及招商活动。

Celebrating The National Day Of Indonesia

At the invitation of the Consul General of Indonesia, Ourina Ritonga, we attended the National Day celebration at the Indonesian Consulate General in Houston. Many consuls from different countries and the U.S. State Department Regional Director Katherine Ho were among the guests. In the traditional songs and dance performance programs, everyone congratulated the 78th founding of Indonesia.

Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world, with a population of more than 270 million. It is also the 16th largest economy in the world. After 35 years of colonial rule by the Dutch, it did not become independent until after World 

War II, and due to separatism, the country faced many challenges. However, in recent years, the new government has implemented new policies. Now today, the potential for economic growth has increased sharply and the people‘s lives have been greatly improved.

Indonesia is rich in resources including oil. In recent years, they have moved their capital to a new location.

We have invited Consul General Ritonga to visit our office in the near future. We plan to hold a symposium to promote and attract investment in Indonesia.
