We Are Ready To Celebrate Thanksgiving In Houston
On Monday morning, Mayor Whitmire hosted a news conference at City Hall on the Thanksgiving parade to be held in the city this year. The organizer detailed the plans for the parade which is expected to be the largest in 75 years.
The Mayor reported to the community very enthusiastically at the press conference that when we all participate in the Thanksgiving event, it is also a holiday for all ethnic groups to celebrate together. In addition to gratitude, we hope that everyone can live in harmony and work together for the prosperity and progress of the city.
This lavious outdoor parade, launched by HEB as the main sponsor, will be attended by more than one hundred floats representing all communities and their cultures. The International District will also attend the parade for the first time this year.
James Liu , an educator who has been engaged in space education for 20 years, also attended the news conference and reported to Mayor Whitmire the plans to hold a first worldwide event next October at the Houston George Brown Convention Center. This will be a major gathering of young people from all over the world.
We are very fortunate that the leaders of the city are leading us to work together for a harmonious and prosperous community.
