胡安賽達的故事

休斯敦國際貿易中心成立二十二年以來,我們在這裡結識,相交,共事成千上萬的各種族裔人士，我常想在我人生中能夠交上無數之國際友人,共同在這塊土地上相依相靠共創社區之繁榮,是令我最感到滿足和可以顯耀之事跡。在這多之友人族群之中,以墨西哥前駐中國總領事胡安賽達總領事是其中非常突出之一位好朋友。

在國際貿易中心的一次午宴席上,這位外交官走到我面前以純正之普通話和我打招呼,當時我感到驁奇這位老外能說如此地道的華語,經他的自我介紹他是四十多年前第一批前往北京建立墨西哥大使館的年青外交官，他的談話引起我高度興趣,交談之間得知他對中華文化之熱愛和太多在中國大陸時之生活回憶,他在從外交界退休之後如今在休斯敦定居,並正幫助他的老友在此從事中醫，針灸醫療事業。

胡安賽達總領事陪同他的好友候賽醫生前來我們正在興建之金融中心大樓參觀，並決定在購置兩哥辧公室作為將來健康治療中心之用,在我們共同之協議下並由他以西班牙語每月在美南環球劇場主持健康講座,並作全球直播,以服務全世界之聽眾。

多年來,我們的傳媒事業為我們搭起無數之平台,新聞事業具有重大之社會責任,和胡安總领事之相識相交,能為社會作出貢獻,可謂此生無憾了。

The Story Of Consul General Juan Benitez

It has been twenty-two years since the establishment of the Houston International Trade Center, where we have met, befriended, and worked with thousands of individuals from various ethnic backgrounds.

I often find myself grateful for the countless international friends I have made in my life, all coming together to support each other and foster community prosperity on this land. Among this diverse group of friends is Juan Benitez, the former Consul General of Mexico in China, who stands out as a close and an exceptional friend.

Many years ago during a luncheon at the International Trade Center, a diplomat approached me and greeted me in fluent Mandarin, which surprised me, hearing a foreigner speaking such impeccable Chinese. Through his introduction, 

I learned that he had previously established the Mexican Embassy in Beijing, demonstrating his deep connection with Chinese culture and the Chinese people. Now settled in Houston, he assists friends in practicing traditional Chinese medicine locally.

Today Consul General Benitez and his group came to visit our newly under construction bank building and decided to acquire office space in the building for a future clinic. Consul General Benitez will also host a television talk show on our TV station monthly in Spanish.

We feel very proud and grateful that because of our media business, we are able to reach many people and make contributions to the community.
