麻疹正在德州西北部傳染中

休斯敦市長惠特曼及赫里斯郡長赫達哥今天緊急呼籲大家保持鎮靜，對於目前在德州西北部地區發現一百六十起麻疹傳染病患，有關醫療機構呼籲大家尤其是孩童盡快施打疫苗。

德州牛仔節今天開始在休斯敦盛大揭幕，有關主辦單位對於麻診疫情表示高度謹慎，尤其是嬰兒必須先種疫苗而且儘量避免在人群中出現。

麻疹是一種急性高度傳染性之疾病，常見於𠒇童，為兒童急性呼吸道傳染病之一。它可能通過空氣從感染者身上傳播，最初之現象是發高燒流鼻涕紅眼和雙眼流淚開始。

我們呼籲大家務必小心謹慎，尤其是有幼兒之家庭,盡量避免出門,如果有任何狀況立即和醫生及衛生單位聯繫。

Measles Is Spreading In Northwest Texas

Mayor John Whitmire and Judge Lina Hidalgo both urge measles vaccinations for children amid the northwest Texas outbreak.

An outbreak of measles in northwest Texas grew to 159 cases on Tuesday,or about a dozen more than last week.

The health department is very concerned about school-aged children who have not received the vaccine that protects against measles.

Experts have warned that they believe the outbreak will continue to spread for some time because measles is highly contagious and it can take 7 to 21 days for symptoms to appear after an exposure.

We call on everyone to be very careful, especially for families with young children and avoid going outside as much as possible.
