病毒危機 世界大戰

隨著可怕之新冠病毒侵襲印度以來，亞洲隣國正面對重大之危機，尼泊爾、孟加拉各地醫院已經不堪重負，全國處於封城狀態，數以千萬計的尼泊爾工人從印度回來之後，把這個人囗只有三千萬的小國再次帶入病痛的深淵，一名當地的醫生說，我們感覺就像世界大戰。

在台灣，政府已經宣布確診人數在幾天內增至三百三十五人，所為学校已娛樂場所將關閉，這是去年疫情爆發以來，首次之社區傳染而使防疫陣線失守。

根據台灣疫防中心之消息，首宗病毒在華航機師發现後，繼續在茶室娛樂㘯地不斷蔓延。

目前在台灣二千三百萬人口當中，只有不到百分之一的人接受了疫苗種植。

令人不解的是，政府為何對疫苗之取得如此遅缓，事到如今，疫苗還不知在何處。

台灣一年多來之防疫工作，曾經被國際讚譽為世界第三名，總共只有二千零十七人確診，十二人死亡。

然而近日來的疫情直轉急下，加上又缺水斷電，這將是對國民及政府一次最慘酷的重大考驗。

整個亞洲之情勢正走向危機階段，新加坡、泰國、越南，都在實施封城锁國之行動，拜登總統宣布即將運送二千萬劑之疫苗，雖是杯水車薪，也可解燃眉之急。

India And Asian Countries Fight The COVID War

India’s neighboring countries Nepal and Sri Lanka are under lockdown and have suspended vaccinations in the face of a horrific surge of the coronavirus. Countries like India with densely populated cities, heavy air pollution, a fragile healthcare system and a large number of poor workers are facing the threat of the virus and starvation.

One of the doctors said that, “We feel like it’s a world war situation. Many workers returned from India and with them came the virus.” Nearby Nepal is recording at 9,000 infections per day with more than 40 percent having now tested positive.

Prime Minister Modi of India has hosted huge maskless political rallies for his party. Likewise, Nepal also did the same thing.

In Taiwan, the government has imposed new social distancing rules, closed bars, clubs and gyms and all schools and kindergartens. In Taipei and New Taipei City schools will be closed for two weeks starting today. According to the spokesman, an increasing level of community transmission has been shown by cases of unknown origin.

The island has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the world with fewer than 1% vaccinated. We do not understand why the government has acted so slowly on the vaccine. Taiwan is considered a wealthy country where the vaccine can be readily purchased. 

President Biden just announced that the U.S. will send twenty million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to foreign countries. Maybe this is too little too late.
