国际区工作继续往前推进

今午我依例主持了每月的国际区工作月会， 听取各委员会之财务、 治安及活动建设报告，我们对於这份成绩单表示高度之讃扬。

治安工作是我们重中之重，近几年来一直聘用私人保安工作执行巡逻任务， 配合休斯敦警方清除赌馆等不良行业 ，防止盗窃及减缓犯罪皆有重大突破。在整治街道及美化市容促进商业发展，也是我们主要之旋政事项。

在文化交流社区服务方面，我们成功举办了大游行， 增设奖学金， 参加警民活动促进族群和谐。

位於国际区中心之社区服务大楼在市政府斥资六千万元兴建完工后已经正式对外开放， 由国际区规划之菜园也為市民提供种菜种花之园地。

新任惠特曼市长曾经多次讃扬国际区代表了我们多元族裔文化之成功范例。

Progress Continues On The International District Work

I chaired our monthly International District meeting as scheduled.    We heard reports on finance, security and various activities as reported form various committees, and we highly commend the achievements reflected in these reports. 

Public safety issues remain our top priority, and in recent years, we have consistently engaged private security personnel to carry out patrol duties in coordination with 

the Houston Police Department to eliminate illicit industries such as gambling dens, and have made significant breakthroughs in preventing theft and reducing crime. 

Our efforts to clean up the streets, beautify the cityscape and promote commercial development constitutes meeting the goals on our governance agenda. 

In term of culture exchange and community service, we successfully organized a grand parade, established scholarships and participated in police and community events to interact with the community and bring harmony.
