為国会议员希拉李共同祝福和祈祷

週三上午我和一群宗教界社区领袖一起聚集在城中区為国会议员希拉李举办了一场记者招待会,呼吁各界人士参加下六月十一日星期二下午六时半举办之休斯敦各界為希拉举办之祝福和祈祷会，希望她能战胜癌症早日康復。

我们得识希拉李是她早年出任市议员时期，这位出身耶鲁大学之政治家，早在年轻时就参加了对前总统尼克森之弹核质询。数十年来她被称為国会民主党之自由派领袖，她為妇女弱势团体在国会中据理力争，她走遍全世界為美国之外交努力，曾经参加希拉蕊之总统竞选团队，一度盛传她可能出任国务卿。

二十多年来,凡是我们举办之春节游园会，纪念二次世界大战结束七十週年及国际贸易中心年会，总是有她的参与并有慷慨激昂之演说而激盪人心， 由於我们都是姓李而互称姐弟之情。

希拉正在向病魔宣战，以她坚强之毅力必然会有战胜之日，所有关心和爱她的人都会送上真诚之祝福。

Blessing And Prayers For Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee

On Wednesday morning a group  of community religious leaders gathered in the central district of the city and held a press conference for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, calling on people from all walks of life to participate in blessings for her and announced a prayer meeting for Sheila in Houston at 6:30pm next Tuesday, June 11, 2024, hoping that she can overturn her cancer and recover as soon as possible. 

We know that Sheila was a city councilor in her early years. She graduated from Yale University and participated in the impeachment of President Nixon in Congress. For decades, she has been known as the liberal congressional leader. She has fought for women‘s and minority rights and has traveled all over the world as a leader in the U.S Congress. She once joined Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and  it was even rumored that she might serve as Secretary of State. 

For more than 20 years, whenever  we held the festivals and big events like celebrating the end of WWII at Minute Maid Park, she always participated and made an impassioned speech. 

Sheila is declaring war on the cancer. With her strong perseverance, there will be a victory. All those who care about and love her are asked to send sincere blessings and prayers for her speedy recovery.
