成立华亚裔<生命展望>热线

近年来华亚裔移民因為各种原因涌进美国，根据最新人口统计，在全国三亿三千万人口中已经超过百分之八。换言之超过二千多万华亚裔人口已经佔有极重要之地位，而且因為年青移民家庭人口增长较快，预计未来十年内将会佔人口之百分之十。

最近在我们华亚裔社区中发生了许多家庭悲剧,许多夫妻因情感或经济因素而走头无路走向绝路,年青朋友受不了社会压力而自杀，一些华裔移民因病而去世连骨灰都无法安葬,许多悲剧皆因事先未得到支援而造成悲剧，听到这些悲惨之事件真令人感到悲哀和难过。

今晨有幸和休斯敦韩裔朴牧师和纽约张震牧师举行了一次会议,讨论如何為社区尽一份心力,我们决定在最近成立<生命展望>热线，除了设立中文及英文两条热线,全面為华亚裔开放,遇有面对生命挑战之时有求救之管道。

今天我们非常兴奋能為提供社会福利踏出第一步,更感谢张震牧师之全力支持,同时也希望社区志工加入我们的行列,定期举办各种心理辅导座谈会,為社会带来更多之温暖。

Southern News Group To Establish Asian LIFE OUTLOOK Hotlines

In recent years, Asian immigrants have flooded into the United States for various reasons. According to latest surveys, the Asian population now is over 8% of the general population which represents more than 20 million immigrants who currently reside in this country.

Recently there have been many family tragedies happening in our community. Many families are facing emotional and economic challenges and more young students are committing suicide because they cannot handle the difficult social pressures. Some immigrants who died due to illness can’t even arrange to bury their ashes. Many tragedies are caused by the lack of strong family and community support in advance. It is really sad to hear about these tragic events.

This morning we held a meeting with Pastor Park and Pastor Zhang to discuss how we can best contribute to the community and address the many painful situations. We decided to set up LIFE OUTLOOK hotlines in both Chinese and English languages.

Today we are very excited to take the first step for social welfare in our community with deep thanks to Pastor Zhang and Pastor Park for their full support. We also urge our community leaders to join us on this mission to bring more warmth to our society.
