My dear classmates,
We are prepare to say goodbye, words feel so inadequate. With just a turn, it seems as though we are gently setting down more than sixty years of shared memories—years filled with both hardship and quiet joy.
Today’s reunion in Taipei has been deeply moving, and we are especially grateful to Adams and his wife for their thoughtful and heartfelt arrangements. Because of your care and generosity, we were able to come together once again, to awaken old memories and rekindle a friendship that time has never dimmed.
When we proposed that we meet again in 2029, it felt like a light placed along the long river of time—a promise, a hope. Three years may once have seemed long in our youth, but now they feel fleeting and precious. Though we will each return to our own paths, facing life’s different seasons, there will always remain a tender place in our hearts reserved for one another.
Today, there was laughter—and there were also tears quietly held in our eyes. The years we shared, with all their struggles and happiness, have become warm and enduring memories flowing gently within us. How many lifetimes grant us such a bond? To have walked together for over six decades—this is a blessing beyond words.
So let us not call this a farewell, but a continuation of our journey. Let us carry our thoughts and care for one another across time. Until we meet again in 2029, may we all stay well, cherish life, and hold onto this enduring friendship.
And when that day comes, may we greet each other once more—with familiar smiles, deeper wisdom, and the same unchanging bond.
