印裔在德州面临挑战

人口快速成长　融合与包容成為新课题

近年来，德州已成為全美印裔人口成长最快的州之一，尤其在达拉斯、Plano、Frisco、Irving、Austin及Houston等城市，印裔社区在科技、医疗、教育、工程、金融及创业领域都有卓越表现，為德州经济发展作出重要贡献。

然而，随着人口快速增加，部分地区也出现了新的社会挑战。

近期，北德州部分社区因移民、住房、市政发展及文化差异等议题，引发一些争议。在 Frisco、Plano 等地，社群媒体及部分公共场合曾出现针对印裔居民的不友善言论，一些文化活动甚至受到种族歧视及偏见的影响，令不少印裔家庭感到忧虑。

另一方面，德州仍然是一个重视商业发展与人才吸引的州。印裔企业家持续投资房地產、科技、零售、餐饮及医疗產业，不少人更积极参与地方政府、教育委员会及公益组织，希望透过公共服务促进不同族群之间的理解与合作。

在休士顿，印裔社区与华裔、越裔、韩裔及其他族裔长期保持良好的合作关係。透过商会、宗教团体、文化节庆及慈善活动，各族群共同推动社区发展，展现德州多元文化社会的活力。

美国的成功，建立在多元族群共同努力的基础之上。不同文化背景的人们，虽然拥有不同的语言、宗教与传统，但都怀抱追求美好生活与实现美国梦的共同理想。

唯有尊重彼此、反对任何形式的种族歧视与偏见，鼓励对话、包容与合作，才能共同打造一个更加和谐、繁荣与充满希望的德州。

Challenges Facing the Indian-American Community in Texas

Growth, Diversity, and the Importance of Unity

Texas has become one of the fastest-growing destinations for Indian Americans in the United States. Cities such as Houston, Dallas, Plano, Frisco, Irving, and Austin are home to thriving Indian-American communities that have made significant contributions to technology, healthcare, engineering, education, finance, and entrepreneurship.

As the community continues to grow, however, it also faces new challenges.

In parts of North Texas, debates over rapid population growth, housing, immigration, and cultural differences have at times led to tensions. Some Indian Americans have reported experiencing discrimination, online harassment, or negative stereotypes. These incidents have raised concerns about inclusion and the need for greater mutual understanding among all communities.

Despite these challenges, Indian Americans continue to play an important role in Texas. Many have established successful businesses, created jobs, invested in local communities, and served in public office, school boards, nonprofit organizations, and civic leadership. Their contributions have strengthened both the state’s economy and its cultural diversity.

In Houston, the Indian-American community has built strong relationships with other ethnic communities, including Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Hispanic, African American, and many others. Through business partnerships, cultural festivals, charitable activities, and community service, these groups work together to promote economic opportunity and social harmony.

Texas has long been recognized as a place where people from different backgrounds come together to pursue opportunity and build a better future. The continued success of the state depends on maintaining an environment where every individual is treated with dignity, respect, and equal opportunity.

Diversity has always been one of America’s greatest strengths. By rejecting prejudice, encouraging dialogue, and promoting cooperation, Texans can continue to build stronger communities and ensure that the American Dream remains within reach for everyone.
