生命中荣耀之一天

休斯敦市议会今晨举行会议，全体议员通过任命，由我出任休斯敦实业观光文化发展机构之董事会董事，主管全市十二个重要產业，其中包括希尔顿饭店及布朗会议中心。

我在向市议会之就职致词中表示，我代表华亚裔国际社区向市长及各位议员表示将竭尽全力来达成市府之任务，不过我已经等了二十二年了。

市长在致词中讃扬新任董事是各行业中之领袖，他们一定能在此机构中展现长才為市民服务，增加和推动大小型之各项会议，同时管理琼斯剧院及其他重要表演塲地，推动来自世界各地之大型文艺体育交流。

这项光荣之任务是我首次出任公职，也是代表了市长对华亚裔之重视，过去二十二年来，国际区及国际贸易中心一直在致力於推动国际区之繁荣及和世界之经贸关係。

今天的市议会来了些好友们之祝贺，我深感荣幸和感恩，这是我生命中感到无比荣耀之一天。

A Glorious Day In My Life

This morning at City Hall, Houston Mayor John Whitmire and the City Council approved my appointment as a board member of the Houston First Corporation.
In my speech in front of the council, I joked and that, "I have been waiting for the last twenty-two years for this moment. I just want to represent the Asian and International community with our commitment to fulfilling the city‘s mission."
Mayor Whitmire praised the new board members as "positive leaders in their respective fields." The mayor additionally said that, "Each of the new appointees has a long history of community involvement and philanthropic initiatives and they all want the best for the city."
Houston First Corporation is the official destination marketing organization for the country‘s fourth largest city. It works to create value and enhance economic prosperity by promoting the Houston region.
When I became a board member, I felt deeply honored and very grateful. This is a glorious day in my life.
