社区支柱社会栋樑

週五晚间在美南电视环球剧场，我们迎来了十多位社区领袖。他们从美国国会议员格林、小商业局长温彻士德及环球第一银行朴总裁手中分别代表美南新闻集团,国际贸易中心及国际区為他们颁发了［社区服务贡献奖], 得奖者分别是:李成纯如，赵婉𠒇，萧瑛嫃，刘志忠，陈綺玲，甘幼苹，张晶晶，杨德清，黎淑瑛，张琼文，张锦娟，江丽君，冯啟丰等十三位社区代表和领袖。

美南新闻自一九七九年创刊迄今，我们坚持着=為社区服务宗旨,透过了他们在各大社团之联繫和支持,能够发挥媒体之力量向社会传播正能量,為社会之团结和谐作出贡献。

格林议员在颁奖仪式上高度讃誉受奖者是社会重要之力量,他们的牺牲和贡献為社区带来了温暖,这是歷史性重要时刻。正值我们共同庆祝美南新闻创办四十五週年之际,这份［社区服务贡献奖]具有特殊之意义。

应邀前来参加颁奖仪式的美国华人百人会蔡欣玲会长也在大会上盛讚受奖者是我们社区之楷模,百人会成立迄今三十五年一直致力於提高我们华亚裔在美国之地位。

今天美南新闻集团在社区广大民眾之支持下,正继续努力向前建造结合媒体金融及文化贸易教育之大平台,為社区之未来共同打拼。

Pillars Of The Community, Backbones Of Society

Southern News Group held a Grand Awards Ceremony at the STV Global Theatre on Friday evening, presenting the Community Service Contributing Awards to thirteen community leaders. The honorees were presented their awards by Congressman Al Green, the Regional Director of the Small Business Administration and JP Park, Chairman of Global One Bank.

Since the founding of Southern News Group in 1979, we have adhered to the purpose of serving our community. Through these leaders ongoing contact and support, we can offer a full 'open door' to the power of the media to spread positive news to the society and contribute to the unity and harmony of our community.

At the award ceremony, Congressman Al Green highly praised the recipients as an important force in our community.Their sacrifice and many contributions have brought much warmth and stability to the community, which is an historical and important moment. As we celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the founding of Southern News Group, these awards are of very special significance.

President Cindy Tsai of Committee 100 who was invited to participate in the award ceremony also praised the awardees at the event as models for our community. The Committee 100 was established in 1989. It is committed to improving our Chinese Asian-American lives in the United States. Today, with the support of our community, Southern News Group is continuing to strive to build a large platform that combines Media, Finance, Culture and Trade to work together for the future of our community.

Today the thirteen leaders who received the awards were: Deqing Yang, Alice Hung, Paul Liou, Alice Hsiao, Alice Cheng Lee, Debbie Chen, Cecilia Chang, Annie Hwang, Shu Ying Li Hsu, Toyo Feng, Mario Kong, Jingling Zhang andJoanne Cheng.
